Imaging Informatics

Medical imaging, spanning the scale from the molecular to the microscopic to whole body imaging, is increasingly playing a vital role in patient care in many areas of medicine, such as radiology, pathology, cardiology, dermatology, and ophthalmology.

Faculty in DBMI are active in several research projects in imaging informatics. Examples of projects include: 1) developing algorithms to analyze and understand medical images, 2) developing methods for explanation, and 3) combining imaging data with genetic data to understand diseases.
