- Principal Data Science Analyst, Mayo Clinic
Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) | University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
Biography
Maxwell is a principal data science analyst in the AI Program at Mayo Clinic. He builds vision language models for radiology report generation. Previously, he received a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Biomedical Informatics and BS degrees in Applied Computer Science and Biology from CU Boulder and UCLA.
I pursued a PhD at Pitt DBMI to further perform multidisciplinary research combining my interests in machine learning and medicine. My PhD focussed specifically on ML method development. Alongside Dr. Kayhan Batmanghelich, I created methods for representing brain images using Bayesian statistics and self-supervised learning. This work, and the connections made at Pitt, have helped me progress in my career and carry out impactful work at Mayo Clinic.
