Biography
Dr. Rafael Ceschin is an Assistant Professor in Radiology and Director of Informatics, Pediatric Research at the Pediatric Imaging Research Center (PIRC), Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. His research develops computational tools for quantitative neonatal neurodevelopment analysis and applies machine learning to create automated early diagnostic tools for at-risk pediatric populations including those with congenital heart disease. He also builds HIPAA-compliant multi-institutional imaging research infrastructure for multiple NIH-funded studies.
Research Interests
Dr. Ceschin’s research develops quantitative tools for neonatal brain analysis and applies interpretable machine learning to identify early biomarkers of executive dysfunction. His current work uses neonatal imaging trajectories and maternal factors to predict longitudinal neurodevelopmental outcomes.
