Biography

Dr. Francesmary Modugno is a Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences and Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh and Magee-Womens Research Institute. Her research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of ovarian and other gynecologic cancers, with particular interest in hormonal, genetic, lifestyle, and environmental risk factors.

Research Interests

Dr. Modugno’s research investigates hormonal, genetic, and lifestyle determinants of ovarian cancer risk using case-control and prospective cohort study designs. She leads and collaborates on studies examining the interplay between ovulation, inflammation, and genetic susceptibility in gynecologic cancer development.
