Biography
Dr. Carissa A. Low is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Hematology/Oncology), Psychology, and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh, and Director of the Pitt Mobile Sensing + Health Institute (MoSHI). Trained as a clinical health psychologist, her research leverages mobile technology for remote patient monitoring and the delivery and personalization of behavioral interventions. She integrates smartphone and wearable sensors into patient-centered studies with funding from NCI, NIMH, NSF, and the Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance.
Research Interests
Dr. Low develops and deploys mobile sensing methods to monitor patient health and deliver personalized behavioral interventions. Her work spans oncology, cardiovascular disease, aging, and mental health, using passively collected smartphone and wearable data to track symptoms, behavior, and outcomes. She leads MoSHI supporting multi-investigator studies integrating digital health data into clinical trials.
