Looking for solutions in low resource busy trauma centers: Can Informatitians help?
Bio: Dr. Juan Carlos Puyana is Associate Professor of Surgery and Clinical Translational Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is the Past President of the Pan American Trauma Society. Dr. Puyana's interest in medical informatics relates to education and training in Global Health Informatics in Latin America. He is the Principal Investigator of a D43 training Grant in Colombia and has established several Research and Education collaborative programs with several universities and main trauma centers in Colombia. He isa busy clinical surgeon in Trauma and acute care surgery and therefore he is most interested in multidisciplinary projects aiming at developing low cost - bedside applications and smart technology to aid medical care and research at busy trauma centers in LMICs.
