Nephrotoxin stewardship ensures a structured and consistent approach to safe medication use and prevention of patient harm. Clinical decision support can assist with stewardship efforts to reduce medication errors and adverse drug events and prevent or reduce severity of D-AKI. Data underpin the use of CDS for improving medication errors from inaccurate drug prescribing of renally eliminated drugs in patients with kidney disease. CDS use to identify patients at high-risk for developing D-AKI is less common. We will discuss current approaches, limitations, and solutions to using CDS for identifying patients at high-risk for developing D-AKI or progressing in D-AKI severity.Presenter’s Website: Professor, Pharmacy and Therapeutics
